At the Hotel
"From making a reservation to exploring amenities, master the language of hospitality."
Arriving at the Hotel
Discover the vocabulary of a hotel stay.
When you travel to a new city, finding a comfortable place to stay is essential. Most guests begin their experience in the lobby, the main entrance area of the building. Here, you will find the reception desk, where staff are ready to help you with your room.
If you have planned ahead, you likely already have a reservation. The staff will ask for your ID and may request a credit card to hold a deposit for any extra charges during your stay. Once everything is confirmed, you are handed your keycard to access your room.
Many modern hotels offer wonderful amenities to make your stay more enjoyable, such as a swimming pool, a fitness center, or high-speed internet. Some even offer a complimentary breakfast each morning!
If you need help planning your daily itinerary or securing tickets to a local show, you can visit the concierge. They are local experts dedicated to assisting guests. Finally, when your trip comes to an end, you must return to the front desk to check-out and settle your final bill.
